Flapjacks. Raisins. Lemonade.
El Buho ('the owl') is our latest decaf offering from Colombia. The combination of golden syrup sweetness alongside a toasty, baked goods quality reminds us strongly of the classic flapjack. Add in a little raisin-like fruitiness and lemonade acidity, this is a really sweet and satisfying cup of coffee suitable for all brewing styles.

About the Sugarcane/Ethyl Acetate decaf process: This process combines mountain spring water and naturally derived ethyl acetate (EA). EA isn’t anything to worry about — it’s found naturally in coffee cherries (and a bunch of your favourite fruits/veg). In this decaffeination, the only ingredients are water and EA derived from sugarcane. The beans are gently steamed to open up, then rinsed with EA to extract the caffeine, before being dried and sealed with a neutral, natural wax to lock in flavour. This water-EA process allows for gentle extraction of the caffeine from the bean, avoiding excessive heat or pressure, maintaining the natural structure and all characteristics of the coffee bean.
