Our story

Downriver is a small, award-winning specialty coffee roastery established in 2024, proudly based in Inverclyde on the west coast of Scotland. We started with a simple idea: coffee should taste really good and it shouldn’t feel intimidating.

We roast for sweetness, balance, and drinkability. Coffee you’ll actually finish. Coffee you’ll think about halfway through the cup and go, oh, that’s good. Not fussy, not overcomplicated. Just carefully sourced, thoughtfully roasted, and genuinely delicious. Honest coffee, roasted well.

Our philosophy is straightforward: approachable, but far from ordinary. It’s coffee for real mornings, busy weekends, and quiet cups at home. It’s built on craft and consistency.
