Butterscotch. Baked peach. Soft.
This light-medium roasted bean reminds us of a Werthers Original mixed with baked, jammy peaches. It's buttery sweet, with juicy fruitiness, and a soft finish. It's the lighter sibling of our Anchor roast coffee.
The current bean we're using for Drift (and Anchor) is called Hunchouen, which we've been contract purchasing and roasting now for 2 harvest seasons. It's grown by a collective of 550 indigenous small producers in the Tajumuco region of Huehuetenango. For every 24 kg bag of Hunchouen coffee sold, our green sourcing partner Caribbean Goods contributes to an educational initiative, the MAIA Impact School, which is empowering generations of young Indigenous Guatemalan women. We've been contributing towards this initiative through our purchases of Hunchouen since 2024, plus topping up our donations through any profits made from selling our used coffee sacks.
