Stone fruit. Honey. Tea-like.

Hunbatz is sweet, fruity coffee with light body. It's produced by a collection of smallholders in the highlands of western Guatemala. This hilly and remote region of the country is known for its micro-climates which creates some really distinctive coffees.

Named after the Mayan howler monkey god of art, music, and patron of artisans, Hunbatz reflects the dedication of the smallholders that produce it and the eclectic flavours of this region. It definitely lives up to its name!

Cool fact 😎 : For every 30kg of Hunbatz purchased, a tree is carefully planted in protected sites in the Scottish Highlands where they will create homes for wildlife and forests for the future. This is made possible by our green coffee partner Caribbean Goods! At Downriver we fully support these efforts towards a greener and more sustainable world. You can check out traceability information on this reforestation project at Trees for Life.
